I truly believe that we’re all created on purpose to carry out a specific mission in the world. Unfortunately, many of us spend the majority of our years living and supporting the mission of others.
When we’re finally ready to fulfill our destiny, we either don’t know what that looks like, or we don’t know what steps to take to make a profitable business out of it. This is new territory for us, so we don’t know how to do or become something we’ve yet to experience.
As a business strategy coach, I ensure “the conditions are right” for women who are ready to live into a business that they love, and that generates substantial revenue for them. For years, I’ve been helping women identify their core brilliance so that they can write a book that will help their ideal customers – their Signature Book.
It’s rewarding to see how, when they finally figure it out, the right people and resources come to them at the right time for the right reason.
They become magnetic to all sorts of opportunities.
Today I am sharing what I learned along that journey in an effort to inspire and equip you to do the same with your Signature Book.
- Your book shouldn’t wait until you’re successful: It’s actually quite the opposite. Your book should become the framework for the value you and your business bring to the world. When you work with clients, they are not simply paying you for your knowledge; they need more from you than that. Information is cheap and can be found for free with a simple Google search. Your clients are relying on you to provide support and accountability, along with your wisdom, so that they can thrive. Your book will help a wide breadth of people and cast a large net to become your number one client attraction tool for the people who want to dive deeper with you. Your book can also start attracting clients WHILE WRITING IT. Each chapter can become several blog posts, live videos, and social media content posts. My simple marketing calendar provides you with an easy checklist to ensure your book helps you become more successful before it’s ever even finished.
- It may take longer than you think: Sometimes, we add goals to our lists and then apply pressure to get them checked off quickly. My first book took FOREVER! Four years actually, because I didn’t know what I was doing. I was writing randomly with no framework, leaving my content editor with a mess to wade through. More importantly, because I had no writing strategy, the process was extremely difficult. I postponed working on it instead of having fun and enjoying the journey of creating my book masterpiece. My clients follow my simple book creation blueprint so that they can enjoy the process and complete their book in a timely manner. They also will learn how to take their readers on a journey so that they can make the transformations they desire.
- Your book should not be for everyone: The sooner we can identify WHO needs your book the MOST, the sooner you will be able to create powerful results for those who really need it. Many people deny becoming too niched in fear of missing out on getting clients. I call it “MONEY FOMO” or “MO FOMO”. Lol! If we spend our efforts crafting words that cater to the masses, our book will be so generic that it’s ineffective. But, when we get clear with our voice, our intention, and our message, our teaching will be more transformational, and we’ll become magnetic to a tribe of people who need and will pay us to help them. In addition, because we are becoming a more powerful asset, living into our purpose, everything will become easier. The right people, resources, and connections will start coming to us at the right time because we are becoming the right reason.
Wishing you a magical week,
