For 13+ years, my leadership team and I have cultivated a very successful networking organization for women based out of the Chicagoland area. And even though I always prefer meeting people in person, powerful relationships can still be created with other like-minded people in other countries from the comfort of our own homes using current technology.
Today was a day full of extremes. I was able to reconnect with one of our early members, just 5-miles from my house back in the local chapter she attended 9-years ago. I was also able to have an online coffee meeting with a power-house of a woman who currently lives in Australia, 9k miles away.
5-miles or 9,000-miles?
Although the potential is there to connect with just about anyone online, a smart entrepreneur knows that our time is too valuable to schedule these efficient virtual meetings with just anyone who reaches out to us. Like our in-person networking adventures, we should only schedule calls with people we meet online who we can help or who could possibly support us in some way.
- But how do we know that, without talking with them first?
- How do we go deeper with the ones who could actually become clients, Power-Partners, Referral Partners, JV Partners or some other collaborative partnership?

Years ago, I envisioned our community evolving to become a global network. Hearing successful online networking stories from our members who live in different states and even countries. I knew we could break through the distance barrier. We are women for goodness sakes. We can do anything we set our minds to. Well, I can honestly say that it was not an easy journey. We tried a few things over the years that didn’t work. Quite a few things actually. UGH!
But I’m a living example that failure can birth success if we just don’t give up. And now years later, we’ve created a successful sister brane called “Core Strong Women”. The goal of this community is to attract and support ambitious women who want to gain more exposure and connections for their online businesses.

Over the next 6-weeks, we have a select number of online networking events scheduled to launch this community with a BANG! These events will be virtual, structured, timely, efficient and a great way for you to build your online collaborative partnerships. Our time together will give you an opportunity to make a great first-impression with the other women in the meeting. It will then be up to you to schedule a one-on-one call with the women who you think could possibly be great collaborative partners.
Just like with anything, you get out what you put in.
So, I don’t recommend you RSVP to this event if you are not willing to schedule at least 2 follow-up calls.
- The goal for these calls is not for you to sell them your “STUFF”.
- Your goal should be to learn about their goals and see how you can support them in some way.
- Be a true Go-Giver!!!
- Be willing to invest in them.
